A note from our President...
The last month has certainly been eventful for BSP. The month started with a webinar by Professor Nicola West on Diagnosis and Communication to improve health outcomes. I submitted the Society’s reply to the GDC Consultation on principles of Specialist Listing and additionally attended a GDC meeting on behalf of BSP in relation to Future Development of CPD. Professor West and I also attended the EFP General Assembly meeting in Bern.
The Conference in Brighton was a very busy meeting and had a record number of delegates. I hope that those of you who came enjoyed the programme of educational and perfectly delivered presentations by all our excellent national and international speakers, covering a range of topics in periodontology. We were graced with some great weather for the flight on the i360 prior to the Conference Dinner, allowing amazing photo opportunities up and down the coast and inland. The welcome, support and service at the Grand Hotel in Brighton was exemplary. Please don’t forget to go back to the BSP online events page to complete your evaluations in order to receive your CPD accreditation.
We are now finalising arrangements for our 70th Anniversary celebration in June with an academic session in the afternoon in London followed by Tours and then Dinner in The Members Dining Room of the Houses of Parliament. Spaces are limited and details are available on our website Events page.
However, before this we have an upcoming webinar, sponsored by Johnson and Johnson, with Professor Iain Chapple on May 20th dealing with systemic diseases & conditions that manifest in the periodontal tissues and periodontitis as a manifestation of systemic diseases.
