A note from our President

It was great to meet so many of you in Birmingham and I am grateful to everyone who supported my Conference. I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent presentations and am delighted that the delegate feedback, received so far, has been extremely positive. My aim was to deliver a programme which catered to all members of the dental team and I am indebted to my speakers for helping me to achieve that goal.

The Conference Dinner proved to be a spectacular evening with everyone enjoying great food, a captivating after-dinner speaker and incredible live music until late. The dancefloor was packed all night and a great time was had by all! It was wonderful that so many guests embraced the theme and dressed in Peaky Blinder’s costumes. Sadly, despite my best efforts, I failed to win the best dressed award and was pipped to the post by Claire McCarthy!

I understand that Paula has emailed all delegates to advise that some personal belongings were left behind at the event. Please be aware that a pale grey and pink scarf was left at The Exchange on the first day of the Conference. In addition, a guest at the Conference Dinner is missing their pale grey coat. It is likely that someone has mistakenly left with the incorrect coat, as a similar grey coat was left at the venue. Unfortunately, no one has claimed these items, so please check and get in touch with Paula or Joanne if they belong to you.

I hope that you enjoy reading this month’s e-newsletter, which is jam-packed with interesting articles and opportunities to help with research projects. Please get involved if you are able to help. We also have some educational webinars planned, so please ensure you register for them.

Finally, I wish to thank our Honorary Editor, Dr Alex Pollard, who has been working hard on this year’s Periodical magazine. Thank you, Alex - I am looking forward to getting my copy in the post next month.
