Dr Nagihan Bostanci wins the Sir Wilfred Fish Research Prize

Dr Nagihan Bostanci from the Centre for Adult Oral Health at Barts & The London, Queen Mary's School of Medicine & Dentistry, London was awarded the Sir Wilfred Fish Research Prize at the Autumn Scientific Meeting of the BSP for her project "Novel regulators of bone resorption in periodontal disease: The molecular interplay of RANKL-OPG-TACE". The Autumn Scientific Meeting was part of the Dental Pan Society Conference held at the ICC Birmingham on 16 and 17 November 2007.

Dr Bostanci will be presented with her award at the Spring Meeting to be held at the West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge from 13 to 15 April 2008.

Other presenters were:
Dr Sonia Vartoukian from King's College, London for her project "Diversity of 'Synergistes' in periodontal health and disease"

Dr Matthew Locke from the Division of Adult Dental Health
Dental School, Cardiff University for his project "Epithelial regulation by regionally defined populations of oral fibroblasts"

All three presentations were of an extremely high standard.
