This narrative review on periodontal regeneration explores the present and future of regenerative potential and techniques. As well as delivering a comprehensive and detailed account of what is understood about the healing and regeneration processes, the authors use this knowledge to highlight the importance of a thorough understanding of the basic science to support the continued the advancement and implementation of novel strategies.
