22-24 November 2019
Taiwan Academy of Periodontology
Region: Taipei, Taiwan

- Interdisciplinary Therapy
The Taiwan Academy of Periodontology (TAP) invites you to its 2019 annual meeting and global symposium held in the modern Taipei city. This global symposium will focus on challenges and solutions for periodontal and peri-implant diseases. Internationally renowned periodontal leaders are invited as the keynote speakers. As many as twenty speakers from all over the world will focus on four most challenging fields in periodontal and implant therapy: hard and soft tissue regeneration, peri-implantitis, implant complications and interdisciplinary therapy.
On Nov. 22, Shinya Murakami, Richard Kao and Young Ku, Presidents of Japanese, American and Asian Pacific Academy of Periodontology will introduce the breakthrough of cytokines and stem cells and clinical skills in periodontal and bone regeneration. Many experts from Japan, Philippine, Indonesia and Taiwan will also present their solutions to most challenging clinical and research scenario.
Paul Lin and Anton Sculean, past Presidents of Taiwan and European Federation of Periodontology, will have a dialogue between East and West on treating periodontal and peri-implant soft tissue defects. Akira Aoki, Guo-Hao Lin, and Frank Schwarz, three master from Japan, America, and Europe will elaborate the efficacy of lasers in the treatment of peri-implant diseases. Would there be a consensus? Or each blow his own bugle?
On Nov. 23, Frank Schwarz will share his first-hand clinical research and the most advanced approaches for treating peri-implantitis. Dr. Schwarz will also hold a hand on course for treating peri-implant defects.
On Nov. 24, Jackson Lu, Eiji Funakoshi, and Yung-Ting Hsu, three authoritative scholars from Taiwan, Japan and American, will demonstrate how they solve implant complications. Finally, Nancy Chang and Bryan Frantz will discuss how they evolve traditional to innovative interdisciplinary therapy to treat most difficult cases.
Recent researches indicated that periodontitis increase risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's diseases and cancer. Uncontrolled periodontitis will eventually loss oral function and need lots of workload by periodontal specialty. Prevention is better than cure. A Presidential forum on global strategies for periodontal disease prevention will be hold on Nov 22 to promote prevention of gum disease in the Asian Pacific regions. Presidents from America, Europe and Asian Pacific regions will get together to share their experiences and hold press to attract national awareness of the impact of gum diseases on socio-economic burden and lost productivity.

The conference will be held at the Howard Civil Service International House from Nov 22 (Fri) to Nov 24 (Sun), 2019.
