Webinar - Oral Mucosal Disorders and Periodontal Disease

The webinar is free for members, non-member charges are £20 Hygienist/Therapist, £30 Dentist.

Bookings will close at midday on Tuesday 8 December 2026.

Registering instructions will be sent out on Tuesday 8 December 2026, as you need to register with Zoom (a quick and simple process).  After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar on the evening.

Only the first 500 participants to log in on the evening will be able to participate in the live event.  

However, booked participants will be able to view the webinar after the event on the BSP website.  You will be notified when the recorded presentation is available for viewing.

1.5 hours CPD is offered to all delegates who have booked and viewed the webinar. Bookings must have been made through the BSP website. Non-members will need their booking reference number to obtain CPD. Evaluation form and CPD certificates will be available after the event on the website.

Objectives

  • To explore the impact of these disorders on disease progression and tooth loss

  • To review clinical considerations and management approaches for affected patients

  • Differentiate between these disorders and their influence on periodontal disease management

Dr Ulpee Darbar

Ulpee Darbar Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, Director of Dental Education and Honorary Associate Professor BDS, MSc, FDS(Rest Dent) RCS, FHEA, Pg Cert

Ulpee is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and a Specialist in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Hospital & Institute, UK. She maintains a busy clinical practice with a key interest in managing complex patients requiring an integrated approach with soft and hard tissue augmentation around teeth and implants.  She has been treating patients with oral mucosal disorders and periodontal disease in conjunction with the Oral Medicine Department at the Eastman since the late 1990s and is a key opinion leader in this subject area focussing on the oral mucosal disorder/periodontal interface and rehabilitation patients and is one of the few clinicians providing restorative reconstruction for these patients.

Ulpee is passionate about education and has been awarded medals for her skills in this area. She teaches extensively, underpinning her clinical work with training renowned for stimulating deeper thinking. She has pioneered numerous innovative learning initiatives which includes the management of such patients. Ulpee has published numerous papers, written books on dental implants and recently authored a series on soft tissue grafting.

In this lecture, Ulpee will share her wealth of knowledge and expertise on the effect of mucosal disorders on periodontal disease.
