Webinar - Prosthodontic-periodontal Interface: Does it Matter?

The webinar is free for members, non-member charges are £20 Hygienist/Therapist, £30 Dentist.

Bookings will close at midday on Tuesday 29 September 2026.

Registering instructions will be sent out on Tuesday 29 September 2026, as you need to register with Zoom (a quick and simple process).  After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar on the evening.

Only the first 500 participants to log in on the evening will be able to participate in the live event.  

However, booked participants will be able to view the webinar after the event on the BSP website.  You will be notified when the recorded presentation is available for viewing.

1.5 hours CPD is offered to all delegates who have booked and viewed the webinar. Bookings must have been made through the BSP website. Non-members will need their booking reference number to obtain CPD. Evaluation form and CPD certificates will be available after the event on the website.

Aims

To explore the relationship between periodontal health and prosthodontic treatment, and demonstrate how biologically driven, interdisciplinary care underpins predictable long-term outcomes.

Objectives

  1. Understand the relationship between periodontal health and prosthodontic treatment, and its importance in long-term success.

  2. Recognise the key periodontal and restorative factors that influence treatment planning, restoration design and cleansability.

  3. Apply biologically driven principles to optimise function, aesthetics and the longevity of prosthodontic treatment.

  4. Identify common complications at the prosthodontic-periodontal interface and strategies for their prevention through interdisciplinary care.

  5. Appreciate the role of supportive maintenance and collaborative teamworking in achieving predictable long-term outcomes.

Biography

Dr Krupti Denhard

Krupti Denhard is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital, University College London Hospitals, and is on the GDC Specialist Lists in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Endodontics.

Following graduation with Honours from the University of Manchester, she completed higher specialist training in Restorative Dentistry at UCLH, alongside a Master's degree in Conservative Dentistry. She was appointed Consultant in Prosthodontics in 2009 at the Eastman Dental Hospital and has since held a number of leadership roles, including Clinical Lead for Prosthodontics and Periodontology.

Her clinical practice is centred on the multidisciplinary rehabilitation of patients with complex restorative needs, with particular interests in the interface between periodontology and prosthodontics. She manages advanced periodontal and restorative problems requiring coordinated care across specialties, including implant rehabilitation, soft tissue surgery, hypodontia, head and neck oncology, cleft care and complex occlusal rehabilitation. She has a particular interest in minimally invasive, biologically driven treatment planning to achieve predictable long-term outcomes.

Krupti is an MRD examiner in Periodontology for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and an Honorary Lecturer at UCL.  She also undertakes education specialist training for postgraduates based at the Eastman Dental Hospital.
