A note from our President…

Earlier this month, we held our final meeting to vote on the recommendations for the BSP S3 Dentine Hypersensitivity Clinical Practice Guideline. This marks a major milestone in what has been a substantial collaborative effort.
On behalf of BSP, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the dental professionals, medical experts, stakeholders and patients who have dedicated so much time and expertise to this project. Your valuable input in reviewing the guideline document and contributing to the workshop discussions has been instrumental in making this initiative such a success.
I am now working closely with our expert team of reviewers to draft a comprehensive paper summarising the findings. We hope to complete this work ahead of The Oral Health Summit in November, with the aim of publication in Perio 2000 (Open Access) in January 2026.
Dr Devan Raindi is kindly leading the BSP dissemination of the guideline, with the generous support of our Partner Sponsor, Haleon. We will keep you updated as soon as the professional and patient resources become available on the BSP website.
Meanwhile, I am delighted to see that bookings continue to come in for The Oral Health Summit. I am truly grateful to everyone supporting this special event. With only four weeks to go, the excitement is building. I am already hearing conversations about how many “sleeps” remain and even some outfit planning for the dinner! It is hard to believe how quickly the event is approaching, and I look forward to catching up with many of you during the breaks and social gatherings.
Have a wonderful month ahead and I hope to see you all in Edinburgh!
Best wishes
Professor Nicola West
