Join our special guest speaker, Prof C. Ramseier, for an insightful session on how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are transforming periodontology. The lecture will explore how predictive models can be used to forecast periodontal disease progression, tooth loss, and treatment outcomes—bridging the gap between complex data science and practical clinical application in dental practice.
Learning Objectives
• Explore predictive AI mechanisms and how algorithms analyse patient data such as radiographs, clinical images, genetic markers, and periodontal indices.
• Evaluate the accuracy and reliability of current AI models in predicting periodontitis and peri-implantitis.
• Discuss how AI-driven risk assessments can be integrated into daily clinical workflows to support personalised patient care.
• Examine recommendations for responsible AI use in periodontology and the ethical considerations of relying on automated predictions for surgical and non-surgical therapies.
