Royal College of Surgeons of England - 2025 UK surgical workforce census
The Royal College of Surgeons of England is conducting a census to gain a better understanding of the surgical workforce and benchmark changes and trends in the profession against previous results. Through the census, they will be able to gather comprehensive information on the composition of the surgical workforce, its demographics and working practices. Most importantly, it will allow the workforce to tell them about the most pressing challenges they are facing today.
Why participate?
Participation in the census will provide us with a contemporary view into the insights of the surgical workforce and it will help the College to more effectively represent the profession.
Insights from the 2023 census have directly influenced our discussions with government on workforce shortages, wellbeing and training opportunities.
The greater the level of engagement with the census, the clearer the picture they will have of the workforce and the more leverage they will have in driving positive change for surgeons.
Deadline
The 2025 UK surgical workforce census closes on Monday 23 June 2025. It takes approximately ten minutes to complete and all answers are anonymous.
