The Frank Ashley Undergraduate Prize is designed to encourage dental and hygiene therapy undergraduates at UK Dental Schools to undertake a project that has a clear educational benefit in periodontology. Two prizes of £500 have been awarded in 2025 to:

- Joshua Hurley

The Sir Wilfred Fish Research Prize, instituted in 1970, is awarded annually by the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, with the object of encouraging researchers in the early stages of their career. The Prize takes the form of a cash award of £1,000.
The 2025 judges have shortlisted the applications to the following four entries:
- Marion Bowman - "Difficult dental conversations: Discussing periodontal disease and behaviour change."
- Noha Zoheir - "IL10 promoter haplotypes shape the periodontal microenvironment: A multi-omics analysis in a UK cohort."
- Rajpal Tattar - "Notch Signalling: A critical gatekeeper of periodontal homeostasis under pathological conditions."
- Vanaja Naik - "Associations between Adverse Childhood Experiences, Perseverative Cognition, and Periodontitis: A Cross-sectional Survey."
The Systematic Review Prize, instituted in 2018, is awarded annually by the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, with the object of encouraging researchers in the early stages of their career. The Prize takes the form of a cash award of £1000.
The following entries will be judged at The Oral Health Summit in Edinburgh:
- Frances Hodson - "Assessing the effects of electrolytic cleaning of dental implant surfaces on clinical outcomes for patients with peri-implant disease: A systematic review."

Vanessa Venchard - "Patient Reported Outcomes following Root Coverage Procedures for Multiple Gingival Recession Defects: A Systematic Review and Individual participant Data Meta-Analysis."
The BSP hold an annual Poster Prize competition with two categories: Research and Clinical Case Report.
The Prizes each take the form of a cash award of £500.
The poster must demonstrate either:
- Original scientific research which has an application to periodontology or related aspects of implant dentistry. A systematic review or audit project cannot be submitted; or
- Details of a clinical case which may have multi-disciplinary content but with the main theme being the periodontal and/or peri-implant management.
Work must be unpublished (with the exception of Conference abstracts).
The Poster Prize entries will be judged at The Oral Health Summit in Edinburgh 27-29 November 2025.

- Silviya Petkova-Ivanova & Teodora Nikolaeva Bolyarova-Konova - "Tooth Loss in a Sample of the Bulgarian Population.”
- Bruna Dias Carvalho da Costa - "Characterising the gingival metabolome during periodontal disease induction and its response to metformin, in vivo.''
- Arish Ghani - "Dentists’ Perceptions of Dental Implant Maintenance Therapy: A Qualitative Study."
Two prizes of £250 each and one-year’s free membership are offered by the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry to encourage early career primary care dentists, dental hygienists and dental therapists to showcase the high standards of clinical periodontal care and reflective practice from the start of their clinical career. Up to two prizes are awarded, one for dentists and one for hygienists/therapists.
The 2025 Primary Care Early Career Case Report prize has been awarded to Alexander Ribera Edwards for his detailed patient case study.
