Build a specialist periodontal service within a supportive multidisciplinary referral practice
We are looking for a kind, skilled and collaborative Specialist Periodontist to join our growing multidisciplinary referral practice at AK Dental Care.
The position will initially be for one day per month, with the opportunity to build gradually to two to four days per month as the periodontal referral service develops.
About AK Dental Care
AK Dental Care is a predominantly referral-based private practice with an established referral network developed over many years. Our multidisciplinary clinical team includes endodontists, an implantologist and a restorative dentist, allowing us to manage complex cases collaboratively and provide genuinely joined-up patient care.
We currently work from two fully equipped surgeries and are expanding, with a third surgery due to open shortly. The practice has modern facilities, digital radiography and on-site CBCT imaging, supported by an experienced clinical and administrative team.
Lucy, our Hygienist has worked at the Periodontology Department at Birmingham Dental Hospital for several years and we have a comprehensive hygiene program. We are in the process of the hygiene service to be more holistic in relation to the health of the whole body.
We have a dedicated marketing manager that works on our social media, website and newsletters and does an excellent job.
Several members of our clinical team travel from London, Leicester and Coventry. The practice is conveniently located in Northampton, approximately three minutes from M1 Junction 15.

We currently have four study evenings planned this year, and the successful periodontist would be expected to contribute to the educational development of our referral community.

The person we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
• Registered on the GDC Specialist List in Periodontics or awaiting registration.
• Clinically skilled and committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care
• Warm, empathetic and able to communicate clearly with patients
• Respectful and supportive towards every member of the team
• Comfortable working collaboratively on multidisciplinary cases
• Interested in building long-term relationships with referring dentists
• Willing to contribute to study evenings and professional education
